AI film production with a filmmaker’s eye.

ARA develops AI-assisted commercials, product films and visual stories for brands, agencies and production companies. You commission the concept and production through to the finished film. Richard Pichler combines generative imagery with experience in photography and filmmaking since 1992. The story, visual language and intended use guide the production.

From an idea to a coherent film

An AI-generated clip is initially a piece of material. A film needs a message, a sequence of scenes and a rhythm. Work therefore starts with the concept: what is the story, who is it for and where will it be shown? Those decisions shape the visual direction and storyboard before images and movement are developed.

AI commercials and product films for your campaign

AI can open up visual worlds that would be difficult to create at a physical location. This can be useful for campaign imagery, cinematic product settings and short social formats. The choice still depends on the task. When a product must be reproduced precisely or a real encounter carries the story, live filming and 3D may offer a better foundation.

Visual direction meets post-production

Subjects, lighting, perspective and motion are developed as a shared visual language. Generated variations are selected, corrected and reviewed for continuity. Editing and timing connect the sequences; compositing, colour work and sound design bring them together. Delivery formats follow the agreed channels and technical requirements.

In practice: historical imagery for Big Media

Together with a documentary filmmaker and a sound designer, Richard Pichler developed a showreel for a historical documentary series for Big Media. It was presented at MIPCOM in Cannes in October 2025. The work combined lighting, composition and storytelling with generative imagery and post-production. The showreel established the visual direction of the documentary project.

What to include in your brief

A useful starting point includes the goal, audience, intended length, channels, deadline and existing references. It also identifies the people, products or visual elements that must remain exact. These requirements inform the choice between AI, a live shoot and a hybrid approach.

Project questions

What does AI film production cost?

The work depends on length, scene count and complexity, continuity requirements, revisions and post-production. A meaningful quote therefore requires a brief. AI does not imply a fixed saving compared with a live shoot.

Can existing footage be included?

Live footage, 3D and generated sequences can be combined in a hybrid production. The right approach depends on the visual language, the quality of the source material and the intended result.

What is included in a commissioned AI video production?

The agreed scope can cover concept, storyboard, image development, animation, editing, compositing and sound design. The brief also defines the film length, delivery formats, revision stages and any source material to include. This establishes the finished result required for your campaign or production.
